Oh my. Yes…. Icon of Coil are, after all these years, doing a tour in the UK. OK, they’ve been here before – but only for festival appearances (all headline!) so it’ll be great to see them in a more intimate setting.

We’re stoked that they’re playing Newcastle as part of this tour… and… we’re the first date so the first IoC tour date will be right here

I’m sure older fans of the band from their peak in the early 2000s will be very excited about this tour, but also of course many younger fans may have discovered the band via Combichrist – as the success of Combichrist has been one of the reasons why IoC have been in hiatus, he is the mind behind both projects

Their career is plagued with club hits, ‘Floorkiller’, ‘Regret’, ‘Dead Enough for Life’ and ‘Access and Amplify’ amongst them – and of course, they’re working on new material and have also unleashed a new single, ‘PerfectSex’

After a VERY successful show at Legends last year (which was their first Newcastle gig since 2006!) and an amazing and well received new album (‘As the Dark Against My Halo’ – check it out ) we’re pleased to announced that The Cruxshadows will be returning this August.

What makes this a touch special is they’re only able to do 3 dates in the UK this time around, so we’re thrilled one of them is right here in Newcastle.

Taking musical combinations of synths, violins and rock guitar and adding introspective and positive lyrics, they’re a band who generate an uplifting feeling to any crowd.

They’ve a great reputation as an excellent live band, as anyone who has seen them will testify – and if you’ve not seen them, check them out this summer.

‘IT’S A PACK MENTALITY’

For the first time in their 22 year history, Bristol synthpop act Mesh will play Newcastle as part of a tour of UK and Europe.

The show takes place on the 19th April at Legends  in tour of the bands new album ‘Automation Baby’ (released later this month).

Great band that I’m sure Tech Noir regulars will love – but plenty more about them even if TN not your thing.

They’ve already released lead single, ‘Born to Lie’ and it’s been topping the European Alternative Charts.
And rightfully so.

‘Automation Baby’ is the bands first release since 2009, in which they released album-of-the-year ‘A Perfect Solution’ – early anticipation for the new album is understandably high.

Mesh will be bringing special guests on the tour, we will of course keep you updated as they’re announced

Richie will be providing a massive mix of rock tunes, at Newcastle’s biggest Rock Night.

Are we good to you, or what?

This Friday sees the return of Faderhead to the area, their first Newcastle show in pretty much 2 years to the date. (Last show Nov 12 2010).

Since then, the Hamburg based producer has unleashed the brilliant new album ‘The World of Faderhead’ which included club hits such as ‘Fistful of Fuck You’ (check out the epic video for that on youtube!) ‘Join Us’ and ‘Swedish Models and Cocaine’.

This is also the only show that FH will play in the North of England this time around!

Support for this show comes from Paresis, who’ve become real favourites in the local area, and the .invalid who treck down from the other side of the border to make their Newcastle debut.

Tickets are still available : £12 advance, £15 on the door.

The annual Hallowe’en Party is almost upon us.

The theme this year is The B-Movie and it will be filmed live!

Expect the unexpected!
